Many of the Premier League giants will be on red alert as the news hit town that Borussia Dortmund may indeed be ready to listen to January offers for their crown jewel Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese goal scorer is currently at a price of £2.47 as of time of writing and he’s up 26p over the past 24 hours, with many traders looking to take advantage of Dortmund’s willingness to talk!
There was talk of Aubameyang’s possible move this summer and while both Chelsea and Liverpool appear to be back in the frame, it seems as though the Blues are currently the favourites for his signature. With interest in Aubameyang peaking during the summer, Aubameyang hit a high of £3.08. However, he then dipped as low as £1.79 following some strong links to China. Traders will certainly be hoping Aubameyang does find his way to the Premier League as he would very quickly explode on the market if this was to become a reality! Aubameyang’s insane goalscoring form has continued into this season, so if Dortmund do look to sell Auba, the chances are they will be in the market themselves for a replacement striker; as such we could be in for a busy January!
Focusing on the buzz winners yesterday and it seems that Italian side Atalanta were the big winners. Andrea Masiello (61p) and Alejandro Gomez (£1.85) both grabbed the defensive and midfield buzz for their performances during Atalanta’s 1-0 victory over Benevento. Gomez in particular looked great and his score of 197 is particularly impressive considering he didn’t even get on the scoresheet. Over in La Liga, Espanyol also scrapped a 1-0 victory over Getafe and their goal scorer Gerard Moreno was the PB winner on the day.
Meanwhile Romelu Lukaku (£4.53) managed to win the Media Buzz for all the wrong reasons (I’m sure traders won’t mind!). The Belgian striker managed to escape a ban from the FA, despite many condoning his apparent kicking of an opponent during Man United’s 1-0 victory over Brighton this weekend. With the press highlighting the fact that perhaps Lukaku’s actions did deserve a retrospective ban, Lukaku’s name dominated the headlines yesterday.
With several Premier League mid-week matches taking place over the coming days, it looks as though the action isn’t going to stop any time soon. As such, there’s sure to be some more movers and shakers, so make sure you don’t miss out and get involved in the Footie Index!
