December Trader of the Month Interview

Our final Trader of the Month competition for 2017 was a closely contested one but one man came out on top and that was Lee P! We managed to track him down amongst the January transfer rumours and ask him a few questions……

1. How does it feel to win the Football Index Trader of the Month competition?

I am really pleased to have won the award.  I didn’t bother looking at the TOTM tables, so didn’t realise that I was in contention!

2. What was your most profitable trade/trades last month?

I’ve been busy re-shaping my portfolio and can’t actually think of any standout trades.  I’d probably say buying Sturridge and Walcott for approx. £0.96 each in preparation for the transfer window and selling for £1.20ish.  I was happy with both of those.

3. What is your trading strategy? Has it changed at all?

Just like Football Index, my strategy is ever evolving.  I have a diverse portfolio presently containing longer term holds, short term transfer speculation linked players, players for Media Dividends, players for Young Dividends and young potential superstars.

4. Who is your player/players to watch for this month?

The obvious one that stands out as its transfer window month is (was) – Coutinho.  Personally, I don’t hold, as he was one of the most volatile holds on the index.  There was definitely money to be made there!

5. Any tips for customers who have recently joined?

I have two tips – 1):  Don’t be swayed by others into making a decision.  Do what you feel is right.  2):  Don’t dwell on mistakes.  Learn from them but move swiftly on.

7. What are you spending the £500 on?

It will be invested in the index of course!  I will not be telling the wife that I have won anything!
