Etihad Showdown

It’s the second leg of the Champions League Quarter Finals tonight with the battle lines resuming between Jürgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.

Last weeks stunning 3-0 win at Anfield for Liverpool will certainly live long in the memory but all will be forgotten should Klopp’s men not get over the line tonight. After the victory last Wednesday, all the talk online was of the job being half done only and you can be sure the Reds won’t be complacent ahead of tonight’s matchup.

In the first leg it was a certain Egyptian who dominated headlines once again with Mohamed Salah (£8.69) getting the first goal and then limping off early in the second half with a groin injury this left questions marks about whether he would make the second leg. The speculation continued over the weekend after being rested for the Merseyside Derby on Saturday. Salah holders weren’t complaining as he took home last nights £0.05 media dividends after the attacker was spotted taking part in training yesterday evening along with a £0.14 price rise. All eyes will be on the team sheets announcements to see if he starts with rumours doing the rounds on Social Media this morning that he will indeed take a place in Liverpool’s starting XI.

For the Cityzens it has been a strange week after suffering two defeats in a row after such a dominant season. With the collapse at home to Manchester United on Saturday particularly hurting, Pep Guardiola will certainly be looking for a reaction this evening. Similar to Liverpool, City will be looking for a returning player from injury to take to the field with Sergio Aguero (£3.45) vying for a starting spot. He enjoys a goal or two against Liverpool so looks like one to keep an eye on this evening.

Elsewhere both sides rested a lot of players at the weekend and so the likes of Kevin De Bruyne (£4.41), Roberto Firmino (£2.90) and Gabriel Jesus (£4.29) will all surely feature this evening.

The corresponding Premier League fixture was a 5-0 win for Manchester City and they will be looking to emulate that this evening.
