Last nights Champions League Semi Final was a cracking tie between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich at the Bernabeu but tonight sees Liverpool travelling to the Stadio Olimpico to take on AS Roma to determine who will face Los Blancos in the final in Kiev on the 26th May.
The first leg at Anfield just over a week ago was a breathless encounter with seven goals, giving Jurgen Klopp a 5-2 lead over Eusebio Di Francesco going into tonight’s tie in the Italian capital. The Romans will be looking to draw on the spirit of their quarter final against Barcelona where they overturned a three goal deficit thanks to Kostas Manolas (£1.10) and have the same task in hand this evening thanks to two crucial late away goals from Edin Dzeko (£1.09) and Diego Perotti (£1.06).
On the Football Index tonight is once again a treble match day with just one match and so gives traders an excellent chance of winning those match day dividends, but who are the leading candidates.
Mohamed Salah has joined the £10 club 🇪🇬👑
— Football INDEX (@FootballIndexUK) May 1, 2018
The star of the first leg was undoubtedly the Football Index’s new £10 club member Mohamed Salah (£10.13). His two stunning goals set the tone for the Reds and tonight sees him returning to his former stomping ground from whom Liverpool signed him for circa £35 Million last summer. What a bargain that has turned out to be. Having won the Football Writers Player of the Year award yesterday all eyes will once again be on the Egyptian this evening.
Another Liverpool player in the headlines in the last week has been Roberto Firmino (£3.37) who is currently trading up £0.58 a share in the last month on the back of his own fine performances and for committing his future to the Anfield outfit until 2023 with a new long term deal signed earlier this week. Will Firmino star on the biggest stage?
For the Giallorossi tonight is a massive game and they will be turning to the likes of Radja Nainggolan (£0.94), Daniele De Rossi (£0.57) and Kevin Strootman (£0.88) to win the midfield battle and put real pressure on the Liverpool defence this evening. The midfield of Roma were largely bypassed in the first leg with Liverpool’s direct balls to the front three and they will be looking to get on the ball much, much more and rack up those match day rankings points.
Whilst up front they will of course be turning to former Manchester City man, Edin Dzeko (£1.09). His late goal at Anfield pouncing on a mistake by Dejan Lovren (£0.90) to give Roma hope started the min revival that makes tonight’s game so engrossing.
So who do traders think will be meeting Real Madrid in Kiev and taking home those crucial match day dividends?
