One of the surprise packages of European football last year was Bundesliga new boys RB Leipzig. Their impressive campaign lead to a runners up finish and by now traders are well aware of the likes of Timo Werner (£2.09). The German youngster looks ready to step up to the mantle of Germany’s next bright hope and at Leipzig, he has the perfect platform to succeed. With 21 league goals last season, Werner has continued this form into the new campaign and this can only be a good thing for the Index! Werner has already shown that he can mix it with the big boys for the PB and so long as he can continue his fine form, he will no doubt continue to make his mark on the market.
Liverpool fans and traders alike must be rubbing their hands at the prospect of Naby Keita (£1.83) joining the Premier League come the end of this season. The Guinean midfielder delivered the goods yesterday as RB Leipzig overcame Werder Bremen 2-0. Keita’s goal, combined with his overall strong performance, left Keita with a hefty score of 258 on the day and this was easily enough to secure the overall buzz and midfield buzz win.
With Keita’s performance, it was no wonder he was subject of a 23p increase in value and it’s easy to see why traders holding onto Keita must be very excited at this moment of time! Keita’s performances this season have been nothing short of superb. Despite the fact he’s leaving next season, there’s no questioning that Keita is putting his all in for the team and it wouldn’t be a surprised to see many more buzz wins for the midfield star before the end of the season. Once he officially joins Liverpool, you can be sure the media buzz surrounding Keita will ensure a good number of buzz wins and the fact that he’s in the Prem will further boost his value! As such, Keita really does look like he’s going to be a big player on the Index for many years to come!
Keita’s defensive teammate Dayot Upamecano (£1.22) was also subject to some pretty hefty investment yesterday and the young Frenchman saw a 25p increase in value. This was on the back of a very confident display and although Upamecano wasn’t able to overcome Keiren Trippier (75p) for the PB, his performance still looks like it’s got trader’s attention. When you consider Upamecano is still only 19, it’s easy to see why there is so much buzz about him. Solid and strong at the back, he has slotted seamlessly into Leipzig’s backline since joining from Salzburg midway through last year. How long Leipzig manage to keep hold of their wonderkid remains to be seen, but with rumours that Man United are already making enquiries, it looks as though Leipzig will soon have another fight on their hands to keep hold of one of their most coveted stars!
