It was another night of thrilling Champions League football and with it came another day of exhilarating investment on the Football Index.
Liverpool survived a late Roman charge and despite losing 4-2 on the night, they secured their spot in the Champions League final with a 7-6 aggregate victory. Radja Nainggolan’s late brace ended up being too little too late, but he can at least find solace in the fact that he was yesterday’s Star Player.
The Belgian midfielder reached as high as £1.00 last night, but it seems as though the quick-flippers have had their say and he now finds himself down to 89p. Although Nainggolan signed a new contract until 2021 at the beginning of the season, but with Roma currently in the midst of some serious financial issues, the Beligan is one asset that would help balance the books.
Another Roma player who is sure to generate lots of speculation this summer is their Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson (£1.05). The Brazilian has had an excellent campaign and with admiring glances from the Premier League and La Liga, perhaps he will be the sacrificial money-making lamb?
Back to the match and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane (£2.93) and Georginio Wijnaldum (81p) gave the Reds an early 2-1 lead, after both players scored in between James Milner’s own goal. Mohamed Salah has been Liverpool’s goal-scoring hero this year, but even though he didn’t get on the scoresheet last night, he still helped himself to yet another Media win. For those traders who target dividend payouts as a long-term strategy, Mo Salah has been an absolute godsend this season.
Now that Madrid and Liverpool have booked their places in this year’s Champions League final, it will now be the turn of Arsenal and co. to see who will be making up the spots in the Europa League final. Atletico’s Gabi (88p) has made some big leaps over the past 24 hours, jumping up by 21.76%. With so much at stake for the teams remaining in this competition, let’s hope we see another night of frenzied activity.
