Mahrez Still On Strike

News was breaking yesterday that Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez (£1.88) had not turned up for training or attendance with the matchday squad for the third straight day!

The catalyst was undoubtedly the league leaders Manchester City’s interest in signing the attacker towards the end of the January transfer window. Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens interest was heightened after their 4th round FA Cup victory over Cardiff City when Leroy Sane (£2.63) picked up an injury to join several other City stars on the treatment table. According to reports this then led to four separate bids from the Etihad, over the £50 Million mark, seeing his price spike to £2.49 a future!

Despite these increasing bids, Leicester refused to sell unless a bid of £95 Million was made! Unsurprisingly City pulled out of the race, much like they did with Alexis Sanchez (£6.43) and Mahrez remains in limbo! Reports say that he has now gone on strike by refusing to train for three straight days and simply didn’t turn up for the match versus Everton this week! The Algerian now looks set for a humongous fine of over £200,000 for his actions, which means one thing for traders, media points!

This news saw him pick up the 2p media dividend last night and this story looks set to run and run. The next Alexis saga?
