Last nights traders meet with Lex Van Dam down in London has certainly had an effect on the Index in the last 24 hours, it’s simply flying!
The event appeared to go down well judging from the reaction on social media and boy has the Index reacted to the prospect of more capital joining the party! The Footie is up a staggering 221 points to smash through the 12,000 barrier and now sits at 12,048! A far cry from the negative news surrounding the FTSE and Dow Jones! Not only that, CEO Adam Cole let traders know that Ireland would be joining the Index also!
These factors all combined to boost traders portfolios. I wanted to take a look at some of the large rises yesterday. One of the largest risers yesterday was Bayern Munich’s passing machine Thiago Alcantara (£2.45). The Spaniard was trading at £2.21 for most of the day before rising to highs of £2.49, a rise of 28p/12%!
It was a similar scene atop the Index where everyone’s favourite Neymar (£9.37) shot up and add in the fact that he took home the 8p media dividend yesterday also, it was a good day for holders! Second in yesterday’s media dividends was Alexis Sanchez (£7.04) who has now smashed the £7 barrier once again.
The beauty of yesterday was that rises happened up and down the Index for example Thomas Lemar (£2.30) is up 23p in 24 hours as is Isco (£2.42), showing the value to traders no matter the size of their budget. Here’s to the continued growth of the Index!
Onwards and Upwards!
