Robert Lewandoffski

The Transfer Window only just closed less than a month ago but that doesn’t stop the rumours coming in the World of Football! Yesterday saw a certain Polish Bayern Munich striker heavily linked away with a move away from Bavaria. As you would expect the Index reacted.

The news appeared to break in the evening last night that Robert Lewandowski had hired super-agent Pini Zahavi to negotiate his release away from the German Champions. There have been rumours of Lewandowski looking to leave Munich before but it is the change of agent that has really brought about the rumours on this occasion. For Indexers it has the potential to be one of the stories of the summer as with the money floating around football, Bayern Munich simply do not need to sell the Polish Number 9. This is where it is hoped Zahavi will be able to work his magic and get his client a move away from the Allianz Arena.

Yesterday morning Robert Lewandowski was trading at £3.02 a future but on the back of the news now finds himself trading at £3.29 a future a rise of 27p a future, an increase of nearly 9%. Not bad for 24 hours’ worth of trading. But who are the realistic clubs that could capture the Bundelsiga’s leading marksman?

It should come as little surprise that in the Premier League both Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be very keen on securing the services of the Pole. We are still some way from the summer transfer window but strikers heavily linked with United and Chelsea last summer, Romelu Lukaku (£4.07) and Alvaro Morata (£2.74) both comfortably rose over the £5 barrier as speculation increased. Could Lewandowski reach these heights also?

Yet if a player of the calibre of Lewandowski comes available it is little surprise to see other clubs keen to join the fray and it is well known that the Pole would be interested in a move to the Bernabeau to play for Los Blancos and with Karim Benzema (£1.05) not firing this season, this news is sure to interest Senor Perez!

Will Lewandowski be off? Looks set to be a story for the summer with the World Cup featuring prominently also!
