Cast your mind back to the last few transfer windows and there have been some truly blockbusting sums paid. We’ve had Paul Pogba’s (£6.54) move from Juventus to Manchester United and of course Neymar’s (£11.81) world record transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain. But who could be the next monster transfer fee?

Well Indexers, may well have spotted the potential already with a certain Lazio player, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (£3.25), SMS for short. The Serbian has enjoyed a stunning season at the heart of Lazio’s midfield scoring 11 goals and assisting on three occasions in Serie A. But it has been his all-round play with slick passing and interceptions that has marked out the box to box midfielder as one of the hottest properties in Europe.

This has inevitably resulted in SMS being linked with clubs all over Europe. Just yesterday he and his fellow teammate Ciro Immobile (£1.68) were linked with a stunning £100 Million double transfer to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur. This is just one of dozens of teams reportedly interested with scouts from all over Europe going to the Stadio Olimpico to catch a glimpse of the Serbians performances this season, with Juventus, Manchester United and Barcelona all supposedly interested.

Then last night away to Torino the Serbian was once again showing the world his talents, first winning a penalty and then striking the winning goal in the 1-0 victory. This led to Milinkovic-Savic amassing 230 match day ranking points allowing the Serbian to take home yesterday’s £0.12 match day dividend for top midfielder. This was the second occasion that SMS has won match day dividends this season with the last win being a star player on a treble day meaning he has £0.30 in match day dividends so far this season.

When you couple this with his huge price rises of more than £1.35 in the last three months, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been very profitable for traders indeed. His talents certainly aren’t kept in a bottle.
