It was another big weekend in the Premier League and we once again saw plenty of action across the Football Index. The market saw excellent gains of over 100 points there were plenty of talking points to discuss.
Liverpool have been going about their business and have been looking very good recently and another win, this time at home to Newcastle, sees them really pushing for that second place spot in the league. Once again it was Mo Salah (now £6.14) who made the difference for Liverpool. The Egyptian continues his unstoppable form this season and having nabbed a goal (combined with an excellent all round performance) he managed to help himself to the forward dividend on the day. Salah’s incredible form has led to him now being talked about in the same sentences as the like of Leo Messi (£8.54); high praise indeed, but with 32 goals in all competitions, it’s easy to see why the comparisons are being made!
Tottenham also helped themselves to a 2-0 win of their own as they saw off Huddersfield At home. To everyone’s surprise Harry Kane (£9.90) didn’t get on the scoresheet and it was this time the impressive Son Heung-Min (£1.43) who grabbed the goals. The Korean is quickly becoming a Spurs favourite and he is a fantastic second option for Tottenham upfront. With Kane not adding to his already impressive goal tally, this leaves Salah and Kane joint top of the goal charts with 24 goals each; however, Salah currently boasts a better minutes to goals ratio. Jan Vertonghen (£1.69) delivered an imperious performance and he did well to grab a double Match Day win with an impressive score of 221.
Back to Salah and it was a double dividend day for the Egyptian as well as he also took home the media dividend on what was a great day all round for the forward. It’s been a continuous success story for Salah this season both on the pitch and on Football Index.
Yesterday’s Media win came on the back of his performance as well as his manager’s praise that he will likely be in the mix for the player of the year award. This win is likely to be followed by several more wins before the end of the season, especially when you consider that Klopp is right about the Egyptian being one of the front-runners for the end of season awards (not to mention the impending transfer rumours surrounding him!) all in all, those traders who have secured Salah futures will likely have lots to be smiling about in the near future!
