Just as everyone had finished watching the Carabao Cup action last night a news story came out that caused a huge ripple on the Index that resulted in a new member to the exclusive £5 club. Welcome, Eden Hazard.
It was the Metro newspaper that ran a report late last night insinuating that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United were interested in sending a huge transfer fee down to West London to capture the signature of Eden Hazard. The article seemed to come from nowhere and boy did the Index react! His 24 hour low price was £4.90 and he flew up 12p on the back of the news article to smash the £5 barrier and trade at £5.02 a future and now at £5.05!
This continues the meteoric rise that the Belgian wizard has had in the past month, he is up 92p in the last month on the Index and when you throw in his Match Day Dividends win against Newcastle (Star Player and Forward -18p) he has returned traders well over £1 in just one month!
Now it remains to be seen whether or not such a transfer is ever likely to happen, it’s hard to imagine the Belgian ever wanting to play for Mourinho again! But it goes to show you the value of a transfer rumour! What price those links with Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid?
