Welcome to the £10 club. Members: Neymar. The Brazilian forward has been in scintillating form in terms of both Match Day wins and of course, the media wins. The rumours of a blockbuster summer transfer to Real Madrid are still echoing around the footballing world and it seems that there is no smoke without fire. With all the talk of his transfer, it was apt therefore that Neymar’s Paris Saint Germain came up against Madrid last night as Champions League action returned.
He's done it……..

The Footie was up a very cool 84.60 points last night and it seems that the return of Champions League football had a very positive effect on the market. With all of the movement, it was some of the Index’s familiar faces who continued to dominate.

Cristiano Ronaldo (£6.23) proved a point that he still has plenty to offer, as his brace gave Madrid the 3-1 win on the night. Yet despite Ronaldo’s double, Neymar was the man to once again secure the media dividend win. The Brazilian forward is unstoppable at the moment when it comes to the media. Quite simply there is no other player who can hog the headlines like he can in world football at this moment of time.
The most expensive player in the world may have been outshone by Ronaldo on the pitch, but on the Index he continues to reign supreme. With a 41p increase in value, Neymar became the first player on the platform to ever smash the £10.00 barrier and this sets a new precedent for the Football Index.

If you’d followed Tom’s Tip of the Day and invested in the Brazilian wonder, it’s likely that you’ll be looking a healthy profit this morning. Still, even at £10.00, it’s worth remembering that the likely protracted transfer saga will continue to ensure that Neymar dominates those media headlines. Where will it all end in terms of Neymar’s value? It’s hard to say exactly, but over the past couple of months, he’s been smashing through each new barrier with ease. It was only at the start of February that Neymar was sitting at a value of £9.00. This continued influx of investment can only bring confidence to the market and you’d be forgiven for thinking Neymar’s upward curve isn’t going to end anytime soon…did someone say £11.00 club?
