Zlatan Is Back

This time last year and the Football Index was bowing down to the unprecedented might of King Zlatan, as he spearheaded Man United’s challenge across multiple fronts leading into the new-year. Since this time, it’s been quite the roller coaster ride for the Zlatman…

It was undoubtedly a great season overall for the super Swede; adding three new trophies to his ever-growing cabinet of silverware. Along with this, Zlatan absolutely dominated the Media and hardly a week went by without Zlatan finding himself winning Media Dividends. The long-term injury he suffered during that infamous match against Anderlecht wasn’t quite enough to end his United career and it seems as though he’s nearly ready for a return.

In fact, Zlatan is making noises in the press that he’s even ready to adapt his style of play in order to fit into United’s system. Romelu Lukaku (£4.78) is undoubtedly Man United’s first choice striker at the moment and it seems that Ibrahimovic is happy to take on a number 10 role to support the Belgian striker. This would be another intriguing development in Zlatan’s career and it could be a similar role to that undertaken by Wayne Rooney (£1.28) as he began to adapt his style of play to suit a more attacking midfield role.

All of this commotion surrounding Ibrahimovic and his future role in Mourinho’s plans has led to a steady increase in his value recently. His 35p increase over the week was capped by a significant jump up in value today and he’s 23p up in less than 24 hours and with the news that he is in the squad tomorrow, he will definitely be a player to keep a close eye on over the coming months!

Will he reach the lofty heights of £6.04 once again?
