The Best Premier League Striker?

It isn’t just fantasy league teams up and down the country who are debating who should be their captain in the coming weeks, but Indexers too are keeping a keen eye on Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero (£3.23) and Spurs Harry Kane (£7.79) as to who could deliver the best returns for their portfolios as we begin to move into the business end of the season.

The injury to Gabriel Jesus (£3.59) in the past few weeks has meant an end to the rotation of leading strikers at the Etihad which has shifted focus once more on who is the leading striker in the Premier League. The diminutive Argentine romped home with the star player recently following his hat-trick against Newcastle United back on the 20th January to give holders an 18p match day dividend on a treble media day.

Whilst despite a tough run of fixtures Harry Kane has continued to hit the back of the net, most notably with his contentious penalty against Liverpool at the weekend, which remarkably meant he now has 100 Premier League goals. This news saw him take home media dividends on Sunday and Monday!

A run through the statistics shows just how high a level both are operating at. Looking at just Premier League appearances, Aguero has played 21 games, scoring 17 goals and assisting on 5 occasions whilst Kane from 25 games has 22 goals and 1 assist. What this then means is that Aguero has a goal every 99 minutes whilst Kane has one goal every 97 minutes! Absolutely nothing to separate them! Yet despite this, there is a £4.56 difference in cost per future! There is, of course, the England factor with Kane but it looks a potential growth prospect whilst Gabriel Jesus remains on the sidelines.

This weekend sees Spurs welcome arch rivals Arsenal to Wembley, in the early kick off on Saturday. Will Kane dominate the media dividends and match day dividends in the North London Derby? Or will Aguero continue his fine form as Man City host Leicester City at the Etihad this weekend.

Throw in the potential of treble Champions League match day dividends from the quarter finals on and both Aguero and Kane could be good opportunities for traders!
