Yesterday’s match up between Manchester City and Liverpool was a truly engrossing encounter with both teams giving it their all to take home three points, almost attacking at will. We had penalties, high feet and courtesy of Adam Lallana (£1.35) a huge miss! But in the immediate aftermath of the game there was only one highlight, John Stones (£0.52) being described by Pep as having the more balls than everyone in the room! Cue lots of hilarity and social media attention to say the least, with Stones anatomy trending on twitter last night!
The Catalan’s comments actually raised Stones Index price by 5p (10%) showing that media attention of any kind is good news for traders.
The two goal scorers yesterday James Milner (£0.42) and Sergio Aguero (£2.79) both saw price rises when each hit the back of the net, but both have now dropped back in price a little, showing that a goal in such a big game is likely to lead to successful flip trading!
Other high performers yesterday included Emre Can (£0.52) fresh from his buzz win last week versus Burnley, who arguably had his best performance in a red shirt, could there be scope for further price growth? For Manchester City Leroy Sané (£1.73) is enjoying a fine second half of the season, and was a constant threat to the Reds defence yesterday. It is worth noting that the young German has been called up by his national side for the friendly with England later this week also, which offers traders an opportunity in the usual quieter international breaks. Finally Sadio Mane (£2.10) was named man of the match by the pundits on Sky Sports and was a constant threat with his pace to the likes of Nicolas Otamendi (Squad List 528). Continued form should be a boost to traders hoping he can get back to his peak price nearer £2.50.
Plenty to consider for traders and lots of mental images we all can’t shift! Thanks Pep!
