It was a particularly successful promotion day for Atletico’s Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco. With speculation already floating about that Chelsea are keen, investors were quick to pounce on the chance to grab futures in the Belgian. After an initial surge in his value up to an impressive £1.13, he settled by the end of the day at £1.09. Carrasco is an exceptional talent whose pace and unpredictability down Atletico’s wings has brought about plenty of goals and assists this season and you can guarantee that one or two strong links will substantially push his price up.
Spurs right back Kyle Walker ended the day at a similar value of 90p. With speculation surrounding a mega money transfer bid from Pep Guardiola, he could easily jump up to a similar fee to the likes of Virgil Van Djik, who currently sits at £1.62. Walker will also hope to play a crucial role in Tottenham’s title push and there is a juicy North London derby just round the corner to look forward to as well!
It was another good day for several big name players on the Index. Karim Benzema (£1.18) has seen a sharp rise in value following reports that Madrid are prepared to let the Frenchman go and who else but Arsenal appear to be waiting in the wings. It just wouldn’t be a summer transfer window without a Karim Benzema link to Arsenal and it seems the press have started early this year! Madrid appear to be in the market for a striker this summer, so a move away for Benzema could be on the cards; watch this one closely!
Benzema’s Madrid teammate James Rodriguez will be joining him out of the Bernabeu revolving door if you believe the papers. The Man United links seem to be getting stronger and his price initially surged up to £2.51, but by the end of the day James had settled at a still impressive £2.32. A Rodriguez move to United would surely make him one of the most valuable players on the market! Let’s hope this transfer rumour continues to snowball; but for the time being at least things are looking very encouraging!
Another player who saw continued growth yesterday was Youri Tielemans (£1.43) and it seems that Everton have tabled a bid of around £21m. There’s no doubting Tielemans quality and it does seem that he’s ready for a move to a bigger team, but who will win the race for his signature? Pep Guardiola seems to be a fan and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Man City muscle in on the action. Wherever he ends up, those that move in on Tielemans now will surely not regret it!
