Silly Season is Just Around the Corner

With the recent Share Split announcement, it’s certainly been a week to remember. Following the massive influx of investment on Monday, it looks as though the excitement isn’t going to be ending any time soon; as the media transfer circus looks like it’s ready to roll into town.

In a week which saw unprecedented gains across the Football Index, the British Media seem to be intent on cranking up the transfer rumour-mill once again. As such, there have been several notable players who have been linked with moves to the Premier League over the past couple of days. Let’s take a look at the big movers and shakers…

Ateltico’s midfield star Saul Niguez (£2.95) was subject to a 63p increase in value yesterday. This movement came on the back of some serious links to Man City. It seems that City are after a possible long term replacement for Fernandinho and Saul fits the bill perfectly. The Spaniard is capable of shielding the back line, whilst also acting as the perfect catalyst for sparking attacking plays from the back. He won’t come cheap though and the price being quoted is currently floating around the €80million mark.

It seems that Saul Niguez isn’t the only man from Madrid being linked with a move. Another of his teammates has also been linked to the Prem, with a certain Antoine Griezmann (£6.71) being touted as a transfer target for both Man United and Barcelona. Now for those Index traders who have only recently joined the platform, we’ve been here before with Griezmann. Back in the summer of 2017, Griezmann was heavily linked to United, but instead opted to remain at Atletico; a move which prompted some crazy fire sales of the Frenchman at the time. Currently, Griezmann is up 32p and whether he moves or not remains to be seen, but for the time being at least, traders look very interested in the Frenchman.

Another man who is generating plenty of interest on the Index market is Argentine star Paulo Dybala (£8.00). The Juventus man has struggled to step out of the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo (£8.19) this season and, despite racking up plenty of game time, he hasn’t been able to replicate his goal-scoring form of last season. This doesn’t seem to have deterred Liverpool who have been strongly linked with a move. Dybala is still considered an important player to Juve, but you can’t help but wonder if he will want to be front of centre and at the moment there’s just no way that is going to happen with Cristiano Ronaldo now being the main man in Turin.

For traders looking at some mid-range transfer rumour, they should look no further than Hirving Lozano (£4.08). The Mexican attacking winger hasn’t stopped scoring since joining PSV and reports yesterday suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eying a €40million move. Players from the Dutch league can sometimes be a little hit or miss, but ‘Chucky’ has shown that he can do it on the big stage, with 4 goals in the Champions League this season. At current price, Lozano will be around £1.36 following the share split and that could be a very tempting offer for traders, especially when you consider the Mexican’s penchant for hitting the back of the net, coupled with these transfer links. After two very impressive campaigns for PSV, the Mexican certainly looks ready for the next step up in his career and this would be one potential transfer to really keep a close eye on!
