The Domino Effect

Swap deals, moves across the capital, yesterday had at it all! The market responded which saw prices going up and down for a variety of players!

Central to it all appears to be Arsenal who are in action tonight versus Swansea (Single Match Day) and their chase for Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£3.50). The news yesterday was that a deal had finally been agreed around the €60 Million mark but that a deal hinged on a replacement being found for Dortmund. This news saw the Gabonese international fly up to £3.96 a future. Before settling back down to his current level.

Over in Germany the preferred replacement was Arsenal’s French striker, Olivier Giroud (£1.60) but it appears that he doesn’t want to move to Dortmund and when stunning news broke last night that both Arsenal and Chelsea had agreed a move across the capital, which would see Antonio Conte capture the services of the big target man he has been after all transfer window. This saw his price rocket from £1.51 to a high of £1.74 last night. This then all meant that Dortmund would turn their attention to Conte’s out of favour Belgian, Michy Batshuayi (£1.06) who himself rose by 15p in the back of the news.

Just when it looked like all of the dominoes had aligned themselves to be perfectly knocked down, news broke again that Antonio Conte would in fact rather sign Spurs Spaniard Fernando Llorente (£0.80), he too went flying from 69p to highs of 88p on the back of the Index’s favourite journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio breaking the news.

So with Deadline Day tomorrow and several striker’s futures are still unclear, there are surely more price swings for the Arsenal – Dortmund – Chelsea and Spurs roundabout!
